I’ve been wanting to explore the Grand Staircase – Escalante National Monument for a long time. But coming from Colorado to the east, I had to pass so many spectacular areas to get there, I never made it. And to be honest, I was a little nervous to explore it on my own. It’s a huge area that is incredibly remote. If I was solo and had problems, I could get in serious trouble. So I stayed in more familiar areas.
Then along comes Igor. He’s a nomadic friend of mine that passes through Escalante regularly. He’s told me about it and I was excited to check it out and it just so happened that our schedules aligned this year. So we decided to meet and do some riding. Not only was the riding spectacular, but we happen to hit a wildflower outburst in peak bloom. It was incredible!
